Recently, a 40′ x 116′ x 12′ vault was disassembled in Tucson, transported to California, and re-engineered into two 24′ x 30′ x 20′ vaults with a Zone IV seismic rating.
A 20′ x 33′ x 16’8″ vault was disassembled in Nashville and reinstalled in Philadelphia. All of this work was done in a 30-day time frame.
Consider that if these vaults were old-fashioned, poured-in-place concrete, they would have had to be demolished and all value lost. In each case, the move was less expensive than jack-hammering out the old vault.
